The Faculty of Social Science at Somali National University serves as a vital hub for interdisciplinary study and research, encompassing the departments of Journalism, Political Science, and Social Work. This faculty aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address the pressing social issues facing Somali society. The Journalism department focuses on developing ethical reporting and critical media analysis, while the Political Science department explores governance, policy-making, and political theory, fostering engaged citizenship. Meanwhile, the Social Work department prepares students to tackle social challenges through community engagement and advocacy. By promoting collaboration among these disciplines, the faculty encourages students to understand the inter-connectedness of media, politics, and social welfare, ultimately shaping informed leaders who can drive positive change in their communities.
